SPECIAL VENUE FOR THE FINALISTS EXHIBITION

The major collective exhibition will take place in the historical location of the Arsenale in Venice in March 2017, a reference point in the art world.

The prestigious venue in the lagoon city will host the exhibition of 30 works of painting, 30 sculptures and installations, 30 works of photographic art, 10 videos, 10 land art projects, 5 performances which will be performed live during the exhibition’s opening ceremony.

 

DEDICATED VENUE FOR VIRTUAL ART & DIGITAL GRAPHICS

The 10 finalists from virtual art and digital graphics will be on view at the Future Centre, the Venice home of TIM, an incubator for developing new business opportunities for telecommunications and new technologies.

The international contest dedicated to the visual arts is divided into 6 CATEGORIESPainting, Sculpture and Installation, Photographic Art, Video Art and Performance, Virtual and Digital Art, Land Art (created with Thetis SpA).

You can enter by submitting one or several works without any age, nationality or thematic restriction.

Arte Laguna Prize opens the entry period featuring 16 international partnerships: among them there are some notable companies such as Swatch, Thetis SpA, Riva 1920 and a number of renowned Art Foundations like Berengo and Foundry Battaglia. Arte Laguna Prize is an international art competition with roots in Venice, with the opportunity to win a wide range of different prizes and career opportunities, to exhibit at the Arsenale of Venice and to join an international network of artistic Institutions and creative people. There is no thematic guidelines or any other restriction, and its goal is to collect the multiple expressions of contemporary art in the fields of: Painting, Photography, Sculpture and Installation, Video Art, Performance, Digital Art, Land Art.

An international jury, composed of high level experts of contemporary art, will select the 6 overall winners for each category of the contest:

Guggenheim Museum(s) Fellowship. Deadline: May 1, 2013

Hilla Rebay International Fellowship at three Guggenheim Museums

Begun in 2001, this multi-site, ten-month fellowship offers an opportunity for a graduate student (doctoral candidates preferred) to train in the Curatorial Departments at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York; the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao; and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Venice. The fellow will spend a minimum of three months at each site as follows (approximate dates):

September 15–December 15: Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York
January 15–April 15: Guggenheim Museum Bilbao
May 15–July 15: Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Venice

The fellowship offers exposure to the unique operational structure of the multinational museum, as well as practical museum training experience to individuals interested in pursuing careers in the curatorial field. Each fellow receives funding of $30,000 (subject to taxes). The fellowship is made possible with generous support from The Hilla von Rebay Foundation.

Eligibility
MA/MPhil (doctoral candidates preferred) in art history or related academic fields. Candidates must have fluency in spoken and written English, Spanish, and Italian.

SP-Arte invites young curators to participate in a Curatorial Lab and trips to the Biennials of Venice and Istanbul. This call seems to be focused on Latin American Curators, as I do not find an English version. But maybe you are from a region such as Haiti or Guyana and do not speak Portuguese?     Los proyectos pre-seleccionados estarán en el catálogo SP-Arte/2013, con cuatro páginas cada uno, incluyendo el concepto de la exposición y reproducción de las obras.

Observaciones

Con el fin de fomentar su papel educacional, SP-Arte lanza la segunda edición del proyecto Laboratorio Curatorial. El proyecto invita a jóvenes curadores internacionales a presentar pre-proyectos de exposiciones que serán realizadas en la sección especial de la feria, tomando como fondo central las obras de artistas representados por las galerías participantes, en un proceso bajo la dirección pedagógica de Adriano Pedrosa, curador de educación. Cuatro pre-proyectos serán seleccionados y sus respectivos curadores ganarán como premio un viaje para visitar las bienales de Venecia y Estambul, que tienen lugar entre septiembre y noviembre de 2013.

El pre-proyecto debe incluir por lo menos cuatro galerías diferentes participantes en Art-SP (consulte la lista de galerías y sus artistas), un texto de unas 500 palabras sobre el concepto de la muestra, la lista preliminar de artistas y obras con imágenes y fichas técnicas completas (título, año, técnica, dimensiones, galería), y la previsión de ocupación de una superficie de unos 100 metros cuadrados. La aplicación también debe incluir el currículo completo con el año de nacimiento y contactos del curador. Serán entrevistados a través de Skype para la selección final dos curadores. Se trata de estimular exposiciones que establezcan un diálogo entre artistas brasileños y extranjeros de diferentes generaciones.

SP-Arte se encargará de supervisar la ejecución del proyecto museográfico que será desarrollado en diálogo con los arquitectos. Las obras serán cedidas con la cortesía de las galerías participantes, con la cuáles un diálogo deberá ser establecido para la selección final. Los candidatos pueden ser brasileños o extranjeros, pero deben comprometerse a asistir a las reuniones curatoriales en Sao Paulo que se celebran cada dos semanas, entre los meses de septiembre de 2012 y abril de 2013. El objetivo de estas reuniones es el desarrollo y puesta en práctica de las ideas.

No serán aceptados proyectos de colectivos o de parejas curatoriales. Los proyectos pre-seleccionados estarán en el catálogo SP-Arte/2013, con cuatro páginas cada uno, incluyendo el concepto de la exposición y reproducción de las obras. La preselección de los proyectos estará a cargo de Pedrosa, Ana Paula Cohen y Rodrigo Moura, que también llevarán a cabo encuentros de seguimiento y de evaluación con los curadores seleccionados. Las ideas deben ser enviadas en formato PDF por correo electrónico a laboratorio@sp-arte.com. Las preguntas pueden ser respondidas a través de la misma dirección. SP-Arte lança Laboratório Curatorial 2013

Com o intuito de aprofundar seu papel educacional, a SP-Arte lança a segunda edição do projeto Laboratório Curatorial. O projeto convida jovens curadores a submeterem pré-projetos de exposições a serem realizadas em seção especial na feira, tomando como acervo central obras de artistas representados pela galerias participantes, em um processo sob a direção pedagógica de Adriano Pedrosa, curador de educação. Quatro pré-projetos serão selecionados e os respectivos curadores ganharão como prêmio uma viagem para visitar as bienais de Veneza e de Istambul, que acontecem entre setembro e novembro de 2013*.

O pré-projeto deve incluir pelo menos quatro diferentes galerias participantes da SP-Arte (confira a lista de galerias e seus artistas), texto de cerca de 500 palavras sobre o conceito da mostra, lista preliminar de artistas e de obras com imagens e fichas técnicas completas (título, ano, técnica, dimensões, galeria), além da previsão de ocupação de um espaço de cerca de 100 metros quadrados. A inscrição deve incluir também currículo completo com ano de nascimento e contatos do curador. Serão realizadas entrevistas por Skype para a seleção final dos curadores. Estimulam-se mostras que estabeleçam diálogos entre artistas brasileiros e estrangeiros e de diferentes gerações.

A SP-Arte cuidará da execução do projeto expográfico que será desenvolvido em diálogo com os arquitetos. Os candidatos podem ser brasileiros ou estrangeiros, mas devem se comprometer a participar das reuniões curatoriais em São Paulo realizadas a cada duas semanas, entre os meses de setembro de 2012 e abril de 2013. O objetivo desses encontros é o desenvolvimento e execução das ideias.

Não serão aceitos projetos de coletivos ou duplas curatoriais. Os pré-projetos selecionados estarão no catálogo SP-Arte/2013, com quatro páginas cada um, incluindo conceito da mostra e reprodução de obras. A seleção dos pré-projetos será feita por Pedrosa, Ana Paula Cohen e por Rodrigo Moura, que também farão encontros de acompanhamento e de avaliação com os curadores selecionados.
