Photography Call – TWIN PEAKS Book. Deadline: Nov. 25, 2016.

——>English<——

Spanish publisher Fuego Books is looking for international photographers to be included in its fourth book. e volume will be an anthology of new photographic works based in the Twin Peaks TV series and the universe of David Lynch and is titled A place both wonderful and strange .

THE THEME

The theme of the book will be photographic works inspired by the tv series Twin Peaks. Twin Peaks was an influential american TV series from the early 90s. It was created by David Lynch and Mark Frost, and its unprecedented combination of soap opera elements, crime serial and a heavy dose of surrealism made it a surprise hit whose influence has growing stronger each year since. In 2017 Twin Peaks will be back on TV with a new season, and our purpose is to honor and explore the strange world that has caused so many obsessions.

WHAT WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR

We are not looking for literal interpretations based on the famous iconography of the series. A simple remake of the iconic image of Laura wrapped in plastic or a wink to the room of red curtains are things that we have seen many times.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We want to see new visions, with a contemporary language, alluding to the themes and obsessions present in Lynch’s work. They can be mundane or ethereal, cryptic or direct, surreal or realistic. Or, as Twin Peaks itself, may be several of these things at once.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Photographers and visual artists using photography worldwide are invited to apply. The application must include the following information in a single PDF:

Who are you? A short biography, link to your website and a short CV will be enough.

What is your idea? Describe the concept or idea of your project or photographic series. A few lines of text would be ok. e work must have not been published before.

The pictures. Please include 10-15 pictures. They can be recent work or preliminary sketches. We need them to know the visual direction of the project.

Applications must be send to twinpeaksphotobook@gmail.com

The deadline for the application process is November 25. The selected authors will be contacted in early December.

A place both wonderful and strange.
