RESIDENCY, BERGEN (NORWAY). Deadline: March 1, 2016

This is a Call for a Residency Program in Norway, for 2017 (yes, they do plan ahead in the North!), at the USF Verftet. The residency is open to professional, foreign artists of all fields: visual artists, writers, curators, craft artists, writers, film directors, film makers, dancers, choreographers, stage performers, performance artists, composers, musicians, audio and new media artists. The residence is open to all international artists, except norwegian citizens or artists living in Norway.

Application
The application must consist of the application form, project proposal for the residency period and artist statement, updated cv, documentation of work. Current work is requested. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Please note our aim in your application process: “The aim is to strengthen, promote and develop a collaboration between contemporary artists in Bergen and foreign artists.”
We prefer the application to be sent electronically through the application form. Please limit your documentation to maximum 5 MB. If you are sending video material, please refer to downloading sites like Vimeo, YouTube etc.

If you do have a personal updated website, it is accepted as application material for documentation of work, cv etc.
The application deadline is 1st of March every year for residencies the following year.
Residents are selected by a jury composed of Bergen professional artists and other arts professionals.

Call for Nordic Photography. Deadline: March 1, 2013

Hasselblad Foundation’s Call for New Nordic Photography

and for the Victor Fellowships to Glasgow, Farnham and New York

Every summer, the Hasselblad Foundation introduces young photographers with the exhibition New Nordic Photography. In conjunction with the exhibition,
the Foundation also awards grants to encourage higher education at under- and postgraduate level at renowned universities and residencies in Great Britain and the United States.

 

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?

  • Photographers and photo-based artists with a recent BA and MA degree (Graduation year 2011–2013).
  • You must be a Nordic citizen or educated in one of the Nordic countries Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Greenland or the Faroe Islands.

WHAT IS THE EXHIBITION PROCEDURE?
Experts in photography select 10 participants for the annual exhibition New Nordic Photography.

WHAT IS THE FELLOWSHIP PROCEDURE?
The participants of the exhibition all compete for two Victor fellowships. The BA’s compete for a Master’s degree at either Glasgow School of Art or at the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham. The MA’s compete for a five-month residency at ISCP in New York.
