We invite submissions of all printed formats where photography is its main focus from handmade dummies, one-off published book, zines and photographic newspapers.

Our aim is to showcase a wide demographic of photobooks currently being produced around the world. The deadline for the Open Call is 1st of September 2019.

KAUNAS PHOTO is the longest-running annual photographic festival in the Baltic States, based in Kaunas, Lithuania, since 2004. Maintaining its strong international character, KAUNAS PHOTO is a platform of premieres of emerging talents.
KAUNAS PHOTO festival announces an Open Call for its 16th edition, inviting photographers to propose their works and offering exhibiting opportunities as well as participation at New KAUNAS PHOTO STAR Award, consisting of a solo exhibition at the largest photography gallery in the Baltic States, Kaunas Photography Gallery and a 2500 EUR monetary prize.
KAUNAS PHOTO festival opening events will start on September 5 and 6, 2019.

Easttopics RESIDENCY PROGRAMME booklet online.

Easttopics has launched its third Residency programme booklet for the 2019 Spring/Summer season, picking and gathering actual calls and programmes dedicated to visual and perfomative arts in the Central and Eastern European region

Easttopics is a non-profit initiative launched in 2013, led by young art professionals based in Hungary and Serbia and dedicated to the promotion of the Eastern European contemporary art field. Working as a think tank for the Eastern European art communities, Easttopics is a genuinely interdisciplinary cooperative which goal is to draw the Eastern contemporary art field and the international art scene closer to each other.

Easttopics aims at mapping and providing more visibility to protagonists of the Eastern European art life, should they be artists, art professionals, institutions, events or publications. It also wishes to act as a dynamic platform fostering connections, exchanges, community building, and cooperation for both practice-based and research-based projects on a local, regional, and international level.

This cross-border project takes form as an expanding online website and database focusing on the following countries: Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine.

Easttopics is also accepting call, residency and programme announcements for the upcoming 2019-2020 Fall/Winter season.

KAUNAS PHOTO STAR Award. Deadline: April 4, 2018

On February 16, 2018, celebrating the centenary of the restored Independence of Lithuania, in collaboration with LensCulture, KAUNAS PHOTO festival launches an Open Call for its 15th edition, offering an array of opportunities for Photographers from inclusion to festival program, artistic residencies to the New KAUNAS PHOTO STAR Award, consisting of a solo exhibition at the largest photography gallery in the Baltic States, Kaunas Photography Gallery, and 2500 EUR monetary prize.

Call for works / proposals on theme
“About Photography”

A group exhibition “About Photography” will be in the heart of KAUNAS PHOTO festival 2012 program. It will open on September 6, 2012 at the most important venue for contemporary art in Kaunas, M.Zilinskas Art Gallery of the National M.K.Ciurlionis Art Museum.

For the central exhibition of KAUNAS PHOTO festival 2012 we are launching a call for works on the theme “About Photography”.
Artists and photographers regardless of their nationality, age, profile (professional: press photographers, conceptual artists, studio photographers, advanced amatures, scientists & scolars using photography or reflecting about it visually) are invited to submit works on the theme of photography.

The aim of the exhibition is to cover the today’s photographic mentality of contemporary society, retracing the imprints of the experience of the image media and art.
We expect images about cameras and equipment, photographers and image makers, photographers’ belongings and environments, labs, studios and workplaces, the abundance of images, ancient techniques and the new ways they address the contemporary world, history of photography re-discovered or re-made, photo networking and sharing visual experiences translated into images, installations or performances.

How to send proposals

Proposals must be sent by e-mail only.
A proposal can present a series of images or individual images (not only photographs!), descriptions or documentations of installations or performances. The e-mail must contain:
1) Brief description of concept (minimum 3 sentences, maximum 1 page)
2) one of the following, several or all
a) up to 15 images in jpg files; file size 1200 px on the longer side, 90% jpg quality, RGB;
b) photos plus additional info as PDF files, in case the images need description, captions, etc;
c) links to videos, if such. No videos should be attached to the email itself.
3)  Creator’s CV with the record of artistic practice (maximum 1 page).

Deadline: April 15, 2012, with encouragement to send proposals as soon as possible.

If pictures / ideas respond to our expectations, authors will be contacted immediately for further arrangements.

 

When works / artists selected, KAUNAS PHOTO festival will take care of return transportation of works or production of materials selected for the exhibition. The festival will cover the hotel accommodation for artists in Kaunas for three days. Moderate contributions to travel costs will be considered.
