Fondation des Treilles Photography Prize. Deadline: Oct. 2, 2016.

Guidelines to compete for the Photography Prize


The photography prize of the Fondation des Treilles is open to all professional photographers with neither age limit nor nationality considerations. Photographers must have already published or exhibited their work.

The subject of their project can be anything from landscape to architecture, social or archeological photography, as long as it is closely related to the Mediterranean world.

Digital or conventional, the technique used to produce the work must be applied with a spirit of durability and conservation.



The jury, is chaired by Mrs Laura Serani, former director of photography, audiovisual and Fnac Collection, curator and artistic director of several major photographic events (as Les rencontres de Bamako, biennale africaine de la photographie), Artistic Associate of the Month of Photography 2014 in Paris, writer and critic. The other members are: Ezzaïm Hassan, Director of the Villa des Arts Rabat / Casablanca, ONA Foundation, Charles-Henri Filippi, collector, Chairman of Citigroup France, Costa Gavras, film director, Macha Makeieff, director of theater, Director of the National “Theâtre de la Criée” in Marseille, Jean-Luc Monterosso (Director of the “Maison Européenne de la Photographie”) and Sarah Moon, photographer, film-maker.

The jury’s decision will be final and not subject to appeal.


Prize: reminder

The prize is made of both an allowance of 2650 euros per month for a period ranging from two to eight months depending on the project, coming with a living residency.

The duration of the cash allowance will be decided by the jury depending on the project. All the expenses due to the realization of the project and more specifically travel costs will remain at the charge of the winner

As far as the residence is concerned, its maximum duration is of 8 months. By the way, it can not last less than one month, specially in order to insure the achievement of the development of the photos at Les Treilles.



Photographers shall guarantee that their works do not infringe the rights of third parties (image rights, right to private property, etc) or that they have obtained the necessary reproduction and exhibition permissions from these parties.

Entering the competition implies full acceptance of the terms of participation.

A short presentation of the project

10 to 20 images in jpg format, 300 dpi, medium quality compression, the longer side of the image should not be more than 12 cm

The applicants will be notified of their selection by email.



Applicants chosen at the conclusion of the pre selection phase have to submit a hard copy application to the following address: Fondation des Treilles, Prix “Résidence pour la photographie”, 90 rue de Varenne, 75007 Paris.

It requires:

A supporting text in French or English presenting the project and explaining the author’s approach of the chosen topic. The text should also mention if the applicant has already been awarded in other former prizes.

From 10 to 20 prints of a minimum A4 size up to an A3 maximum format.

A signed letter where the applicant (if awarded) undertakes the cession of at least 3 prints and the copyrights of such images in the strict limit of an institutional use. The prints will be part of the art collection of la Fondation des Treilles.

A stamped envelope or any form of package at the right format for the return of the prints to the applicants that have not been selected. Applications sent without the requested return envelope or unvalid stamping will not be returned.



Applications for pre selection must be sent from May 2 to October 2, 2016 to the following email address: prix.photo@les-treilles.com

Pre selection will take place in November 2016. Selected or not, each applicant will be advised.

Conditions de participation

● Etre impérativement inscrit sur le site et avoir mis à jour sa Fiche personnelle y compris avec le reportage présenté. Inscription ouverte et gratuite.

● Reportage. Le travail soumis par le photographe devra :
– porter sur un problème social ou environnemental
– avoir été achevé en 2014 ou 2015. Chaque photographe présentera un seul

● Dossier de candidature. Chaque dossier soumis à la sélection devra comporter :
– Une biographie sommaire du photographe.
– Une note explicative sur le reportage : intentions, sujet, problématique,
partenaires éventuels et conditions de réalisation… (1 page)
– 30 à 50 photographies au format papier A5, A4 ou plus, (tirages de lecture, ou
impressions laser, de très bonne qualité…)
Chaque photographie devra être accompagnée de sa légende explicative,
de la date et du lieu du reportage, avec le nom du photographe.
– Un CD avec toutes ces mêmes données
(textes au format Word et photos au format jpeg 72dpi 500 pixels)
– Le photographe indiquera s’il est d’ores et déjà prévu que ce reportage fasse
l’objet d’une exposition ou d’une publication en 2016.

Les dossiers sont à déposer ou à envoyer à : SOPHOT.com – 69 boulevard de Magenta 75010 – Paris, France – jusqu’au vendredi 5 février 2016 inclus.

L’annonce de la sélection aura lieu dans la deuxième semaine du mois de mars 2016.
A partir de cette date les dossiers qui n’ont pas été sélectionnés pourront être
récupérés sur place.
La production et le montage de l’exposition seront assurés par le site SOPHOT.com

Conditions of participation

● be registered on SOPHOT.com with an up-to-date personal file that includes
the project being submitted. Registration is free and open to all.

● The photographic projects submitted for consideration must:
– deal with a social or environmental issue.
– Have been completed in 2014 or 2015.
Only one documentary may be submitted per entrant.

● Application form – Each application form must include:
– A brief biography of the photographer
– A short explanation (1-2 pages) of the project: aims, subject,
social/environmental context, collaborators, shooting conditions.
(In french, is better. Please).
– Between 30 and 50 images, printed on A5 or A4 format paper or larger
(proof prints or high-quality laser prints accepted)
Each image must have its own caption. Please include on the back of each image,
your name, postal and e-mail addresses along with the date and the place
where it was taken.
– A CD including the same data
(text in Word format and photos as 500 pixel 72 dpi jpeg files)
– The photographer must also indicate whether or not it is planned that the work
presented will be exposed or published in 2016.

The application must either be sent by post or otherwise delivered to:

The jury will announce their selections during the second week of March 2016.

Photography Competition of the Hyères Festival, France. Deadline: Nov. 15, 2015

This is a call for entries for the next Photography Competition of the Hyères Festival, taking place in the historical villa Noailles in South of France.

Submission deadline is November 25, 2015.

“Gathering an international jury, renewed on a yearly basis, the festival offers a unique platform to young talents for promoting their work and getting an international audience as well as a great support, notably through an award granted of 15000 euros, portfolio reviews and exhibitions.”


The competition is open to any photographer or artist using the photographic medium on a regular basis. No age nor nationality restriction apply. Only photographers/artists who have not had an important exhibition in a gallery, or cultural institution of international importance, may take part. The competition does not distinguish according to genre; portraits, landscapes, still-lifes, fashion, etc. are all admissible. Please note that collective submissions – made by two or more artists – are accepted providing the authors work on a regular basis together and have built a body of work together)

FORMAT The competition consists of 2 rounds of evaluation: First round: entries must be submitted by email at the latest on November 25th, 2015 (see details below). Following this first round, the festival committee will select approx. 60 portfolios. On December 9, 2015, at the latest all entrants will be informed whether they have been selected for the second round, or not. Second round: selected participants for the second round must send prints of the images previously submitted by email, at the latest on December 19th, 2015 (see details below). The 2016 jury will meet during the month of January to select the 10 short-listed photographers who will take part in the festival. All participants of the second round will be informed of the results by January 31, 2016 at the latest. In order to participate, please adhere to the following steps:

Complete the entry form do not omit any information requested, save it as a pdf. Boutographies is a festival of contemporary creative photography open to all photographers living in Europe. The criteria for selection by a jury of professionals in the photographic field, are a high creative level and photographic technique, originality and a coherent personal vision. There is no theme.

All selected photographers will be exhibited during the 15th edition of Les Boutographies festival  at La Panacée, the new center for contemporary culture in the historic center of Montpellier. The festival will take place in April 2015.

Submit to Boutographies 2015

City of Levallois Photography Call. Deadline: May 10, 2014.

The 7th edition of city Levallois photography is now open.

This prize will be awarding a photographer’s work, aged 35 at the most, regardless of nationality. Artists must present their own works, which has not been previously published or exhibited. The selection panel will pay particular attention to the consistency of the artistic approach in its form and content.

The call for application is open from February 4th to May 10th 2014.

This prize includes the sum of ten thousand euros and the opportunity for the winner to exhibit their work as part of the Photo Levallois Festival, at L’Escale gallery, 25 rue de la Gare, 92300 Levallois, France.

The 2014 panel of judges will be announced soon.


The award is for photographers and artists under the age of 35.

L’appel à candidature pour la 7e édition du prix photographique de la ville de Levallois est ouvert.

Ce prix viendra récompenser le travail d’un artiste âgé de 35 ans maximum, sans distinction de nationalité. Les photographes devront présenter un travail d’auteur inédit et non publié ou exposé au préalable. Le jury de sélection portera une attention particulière à la cohérence de la démarche artistique dans sa forme et son contenu.

Les candidats peuvent envoyer leurs dossiers du 4 février au 10 mai 2014.

Le prix photographique de la ville de Levallois est doté de la somme de 10000 euros. Le lauréat bénéficiera d’une exposition dans le cadre du festival, à la galerie l’Escale, 25 rue de la Garde, 92300 Levallois.
