Fotograf Open call. Deadline: June 15, 2018

Fotograf Opencall

Fotograf issues an open call for professionals, amateurs, and students who are invited to submit their photo projects that will be published in a printed issue of the Fotograf magazine.

The projects may be related to this year’s theme of the festival and magazine, “Non-work: Occupied by Leisure Time” – where that means any activity on the border between so-called free time and work. What is a leisure time? How does this socially constructed scheme affect our perception? Projects that are not related to the topic, but represent a distinctly defined project of an independent and non-commercial character will be accepted as well.

Submission terms and conditions:

  • Project – images in one PDF file.
  • Text: the project description (max. 1 x A4), the author’s portfolio, and CV (including contact information).
  • Send your projects to email: info@fotografnet.cz and write “OPENCALL” in the email subject line.
  • Any email attachments must be properly identified – the file names should begin with your last name and then first name.
  • The number of projects submitted by one author is not limited.

The deadline for the competition submissions is June 15, 2018.

The participation fee per project is CZK 450 / EUR 18.

Instructions:
Please send the fee to the following bank account number: 2800358798/2010,
IBAN: CZ8420100000002800358798
BIC code/SWIFT: FIOBCZPPXXX
(please add “OPENCALL_surname” in the note)

The four winning projects will be published in the next two issues of Fotograf (October 2018 and May

2019). Fotograf magazine is one of the leading global magazines devoted to photography and contemporary art. It is distributed to 25 countries around the world.

The winner will be chosen by the jury whose members include Pavel Baňka, Jen Kratochvil, Louise Fedotov-Clements, Moritz Neumüller, Josephine Pryde, Tereza Rudolf, Marie Sarycheva and Tereza Zelenková.

The winners will be announced no later than June 28, 2018 on www.fotografmagazine.cz

Open Call for Artists – 2018 International Photography Festival

We are excited to launch an open call for exhibiting at the 6th international Photography Festival that will take place in November 2018 in Tel-Aviv.
For the first time in this format, we will be happy to see works and explore ideas to be exhibited at the festival. It is also the first time that we invite artists from various media, not only photographers, to submit their proposals.

Artists working with photography, video, performance, and multimedia, from all over the world and in all stages of their career are invited to send proposals for existing or planned works on this year’s theme – relations.
The subject of relations, on the numerous worlds and interpretation associated with it, has always been a central subject matter for artists, curators, and scholars. In the upcoming festival, we wish to explore this theme from different angles, as well as its relevance in today’s world, and the new ways it can be represented.A panel of art professionals will review the proposals and select the participating artists.
The selected works will be exhibited at the festival’s thematic exhibition, or as special projects at the festival.
Submission deadline: June 25, 2018
* An application fee of $15 includes a registration fee and free entrance to the Photography Festival to all submitting artists.

Odesa Photo Days is quite young, but still the only one international photography festival in Ukraine and just begins to gain popularity in the international arena. It was founded in 2015 and arose as a reflection of the war in eastern Ukraine, political events and social media manipulation.

Three years in a row our festival tried to create educational platform for the international photographers, that to share knowledge, opportunities, ideas and spread the information about ukrainian photography. This year they also would like to see hidden stories from different continents, which is why they announce an Open Call for the main exhibition of the Festival, with theme “Off Limits”.
