EMBARRAT 2020 // OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS

[ENG] Submissions are now being accepted from artists of any discipline, for the purpose of selecting the artworks that will comprise the collective exhibition THE GREAT MACHINE VII on this edition’s topic: THE POWERand will be eligible for the EMBARRAT-IEI Award. Deadline: 29 February 2020.

Embarrat. Festival of Contemporary Creation takes place in the old factory Museu Trepat in Tàrrega (Lleida, Spain) on 29 and 30 May. Collective exhibition till 2 June.

Have questions before you submit your images on climate change to the 7th Edition of the Tokyo International Photography Competition? Check out a few of our most frequently asked questions below.

IS THERE AN ENTRY FEE?

Yes. The entry fee is $40 per set of 5–10 images. There is no limit to the number of entries allowed per person.

WHAT IF I CANNOT AFFORD THE SUBMISSION FEE?

Scholarships are available for photographers from countries without acess to credit cards or where the $40 entry fee would be prohibitive. To apply, please fill out the scholarship application form.

IS THE COMPETITION OPEN TO PHOTOGRAPHERS WORLDWIDE?

The Tokyo International Photography Competition is open to all photographers around the world. Note: Photographers must be 18 years of age or older at the time of submission.

WHAT LANGUAGE SHOULD MY ARTIST STATEMENT BE WRITTEN IN?

Please write your statement in the language you feel most comfortable in.

WHO WILL DECIDE WHICH PHOTOGRAPHERS ARE SELECTED?

A select group of internationally renowned jurors from around the world will review all the images submitted and select the winning entries.

WHERE WILL THE WINNING EXHIBITION BE PRESENTED?

Selected photographers will be invited to have an exhibition of their work at the Tokyo Institute of Photography in Tokyo, Japan; the United Photo Industries Gallery in Brooklyn, New York; Wonder Foto Day in Taipei, Taiwan; and the PhotoIreland Festival in Dublin, Ireland.

Ninth edition of the CAP Prize, the Contemporary African Photography Prize

The Contemporary African Photography Prize (CAP Prize) is open for entries to its ninth edition. The prize is directed at photographers whose work engages with the African continent or its diaspora. The five winning entries will be showcased in a series of exhibitions produced in collaboration with major photography festivals in Africa and the rest of the world with the aim of raising the profile of African photography.
The CAP Prize aims to raise the profile of African photography within the arts and to encourage a rethinking of the image of Africa. Each year five winners are selected by an internationally sourced panel of judges, enabling the promotion of African photography worldwide. The CAP Prize is open to artists of any age and descent. Submitted photo series must consist of a minimum of 10, but may not exceed 25 images. The call closes on 7 February 2020. There is no entry fee.
