COSMOS PDF AWARD. DEADLINE: JUNE 10, 2017

COSMOS PDF AWARD is a digitally transmitted price. Its first aim is to help photographers to produce and highlight innovative and creative projects around photography and digital publishing. The pdf is the most easy to use and « democratic » file format for the transmission of artistic projets.
The price was created in 2015 by olivier cablat and sebastian hau for the non-profit organisation galerie 2600.
In 2017, the award has new partners and takes a new form, promoting the most innovating digital publications, getting a new platform and submission interface.

Candidatures are made via a digital portfolio, in a pdf-format. Participants are invited to send an unpublished project, which redefines our understanding of the limits of the medium. Taking part is free, the form of the pdf is free. We are looking for propositions that also value this standardized support as a singular form of expression. There is no limitation in number of pages but the pdf weight is limited to 10 mo.
The jury will be composed of 10 persons from the worlds of photography and photobooks. Deadline is the 1oth of june 2017.
A shortlist of 10 pdf’s will be announced in mid june and the winner at the end of june.
The shortlisted pdfs will be presented on our website.
The winning project will be printed by a professional studio (atelier shl), and presented at cosmos arles books, during the professional week of les rencontres de la photographie.
