DEADLINE: March 24, 2022
PHOTO IS:RAEL invites artists to submit proposals for the central exhibition of the 10th International Photography Festival, which will take place in November 2022
The International Photography Festival is the biggest photography event in Israel and will mark its tenth anniversary in November. The festival is an anticipated fixture in the country’s annual cultural calendar and welcomes tens of thousands of visitors every year. The two-week event presents the work of over 200 leading Israeli and international photographers.
A committee of experts spanning multiple artistic genres will review the proposals and select 20 artists to exhibit their work. The proposals are submitted to the committee anonymously to ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity regardless of their location, age or level of education.
The 20 selected artists will be invited to present their work in the festival’s central exhibition, and will also exhibit their works at additional festivals around the world
The 10th International Photography Festival’s Theme is – ACTION
For the upcoming festival, we are looking for proposals that tackle the concept of ACTION from multiple perspectives that relate to actions of all kinds – from planning to mobilization, from a call for action to collaborations and the spaces in which they will unfold, and finally, the realization of the artistic action or action in public space. We will examine how a human action can generate discourse or how an individual’s action can have a wide influence.
Most importantly, through this call for proposals, we encourage freedom of action with no conditions or rules
We invite artists from all over the world and at different stages in their careers to send proposals for existing or new works dealing with the concept of action in the fields of photography, video, performance art, and multidisciplinary art.
Deadline for submissions: March 24, 2022
*Participation fee: 15 USD, which includes registration fees and an entry to all the Photography Festival events.
*6-12 images may be included, depending on the nature of the proposed works and if they are video or installation pieces, please include a link to view the work in the section titled “project description”.
