Residencies in Marocco, via Culture Vultures. Deadlines: March & April

Sefrou Museum of Multiculturalism, (SMM)  is a small, well informed platform opening in March, 2020 with the mission to highlight and celebrate Sefrous’ eclectic heritage and demonstrate where various cultures from a rich history have met, merged and  influenced each other.  Conferences, public art pieces and research papers are all components of SMMs mid-term agenda.  In the meantime, Sefrou Museum of Multiculturalism will be hosting happenings and presentations to introduce you to the museum, its content and program.    http://culturevulturesfez.org/sefrou-museum-of-multiculturalism/

For creative practitioners who wish to (re) visit Morocco, more specifically Sefrou, here is how you can.

AiR Sefrou,  a residency re-launch– smaller but wiser, AiR Sefrou is a residency for self-governing artists, arts managers and researchers.  Our lodgings are a comfortable apartment on the edge of Sefrous’ ancient medina and the facilities a self contained studio space and small reading lounge in the thick of it all.  2020 applications are encouraged to be submitted by March 31st, Places are limited.  http://culturevulturesfez.org/residencies/

Researchers Residency – In conjunction with the launch of SMM, Culture Vultures offers independent academics in the field of anthropology, sociology and/or history, the prospect to pursue studies in the realm of Multiculturalism in the Region of Sefrouthrough our residency. There is 15 % discount for scholars interested; submit applications before April 30th.

There are still availability left on both of these short immersive programs.  The Poetics of Craft in this coming February, inviting us to engage in local weaving practices and explore the relationships between storytelling and cloth making, between text and textile,   and Textile Quest for textile rovers wanting deep connections with the textile artisans of North Morocco .

Returning Residents know that because you are valuable members of our community, you are granted a Golden Culture Coin, giving you a 20 % discount on any of the above for 2020 /2021. Cash in by making your booking before March 31st, 2020.
