Open Call: Destination Vienna 2015. Deadline: Oct. 4, 2014

Welcome back after the summer!

Have a look at this: Artists living in Vienna or those who will have a residency in Vienna during the time of the submission and/or during the course of the exhibition, or “all those who show a connection with Vienna in their artistic work” may submit to this call, with no restrictions to age or nationality. If this is your case, keep reading:
From April 17, until May 31, 2015 Kunsthalle Wien will present the exhibition Destination Vienna 2015 that follows the exhibition series Living and working in Vienna, which took place in 2000, 2005 and 2010.

In contrast to the previous exhibitions, Destination Vienna 2015 has a central theme: Based on the status quo of geopolitical and cultural position and the potentials, issues and areas of conflict evolving of it, the exhibition will present ways of dealing with different aspects of living together. What do artists find important in and about Vienna and how do they experience the city in relation to its geopolitical position? What does living together mean today? What is art’s contribution to this? What kind of influence do politics have on this issue?

Destination Vienna 2015 will expand to all venues of Kunsthalle Wien Museumsquartier and Karlsplatz and, via a cooperation with galleries from Vienna, to the entire city.
