International call for submission to eCREA 2011
For students of photography, art and/or communication
Emergent-Lleida. International Festival of Photography and Visual Arts
For the purpose of stimulating the most innovative photographic creation among new creators and publishing their work, the Institut d’Estudis Ilerdencs and EMERGENT-LLEIDA publicly announce the 3rd iteration of the eCREA programme for photography-based art projects.
Who is eligible?
Students enrolled in photography, audiovisual, communications or fine arts schools and/or universities in any European country.
Older students who attended school during 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 will be accepted.
The Award: Exhibition and Publication
From all the submissions the jury will select four portfolios for the eCREA group show which will be held within the framework of the EMERGENT 2011 programme.
In addition, these works will be published in the book which will constitute the third volume of the eCREA series.
The exhibition opening and book presentation will consist in a public ceremony held on October 26th 2011 at the Gótica venue of the Institut d’Estudis Ilerdencs (IEI).
Submissions must be photographic projects; there are no limits on subject matter, technique or presentation format. The jury will value the creativity and risk the proposals involve and, therefore, all the aspects that entail a contribution of quality and innovation both in terms of the themes themselves and the manner of presenting the works in the eCREA exhibition setting.
The photographs must be sent in digital format through the festival website. The technical specifications for sending the photographs and the application forms can be found at this site. Along with the works, participants must submit a digitized copy of their ID or passport and a digitized receipt or certification of enrollment issued by the school where they study.
Participants may submit one project only.
The authors of the photographs will have the authorization needed for publicly exhibiting their works, in case they include people or buildings that require permission, therefore absolving the EMERGENT and IEI organizations from any responsibility.
Cristina Zelich (free-lance curator) and Anselm Ros (Curator of the IEI) will be the judges. Their verdict will be final.
Announcing the winners
The names will be published on the EMERGENT website on July 24th 2011.
About the exhibition and publication
The winners will provide the organization with the digital files or original negatives needed to produce the exhibition and the book.
The production will be undertaken by the Institut d’Estudis Ilerdencs Lleida.
Once the exhibition is over the works reproduced will be sent back to the photographers.
Closing date for submissions
The deadline for submissions is June 26th 2011 at 24:00. Once this date has passed the online photograph-sending service will be deactivated.
The selected artists will authorize EMERGENT-LLEIDA and the Institut d’Estudis Ilerdencs to publish their artworks for the purpose of promoting and/or advertising the artists, their works and the festival.
By registering online at emergent-lleida.org the artists communicate their understanding and acceptance of these terms and conditions.
