The Curator Ship Photography Contest is a celebration of our visitors on board to date with nearly 100.000 hits from artists, curators and professionals from around the globe. The submission is free of charge with the opportunity to win some pretty amazing prizes! The Jury consists of the students of the European Master of Fine Art Photography in Madrid, guided by the renowned photographer and publisher Andreas Müller-Pohle.
The theme of the contest is “Pirates and Sea Dogs”. Let your imagination sail away and have some fun on board!
Prizes include a three-day workshop with Paul Kranzler, at the IED Madrid, two-year subscriptions to Camera Austria Magazine and to European Photography Magazine, and a free participation in the PhotoIreland Festival 2013 Portfolio Review. The special prize that will make you a proud shipowner is a gift voucher of Premier Ship Models.
Furthermore, ten finalists will get the opportunity for their work to be showcased on The Curator Ship website and at a screening at PhotoIreland Festival 2013.

The European Master in Fine Art Photography is a referential course based on the excellence of its faculty and the focus of an artistic project in the European environment. The program is based on the experience of the course directors, the visiting professionals and the project tutors. Faculty include: Martin Parr | Simon Roberts | Alejandro Castellote | Javier Vallhonrat | Jean-François Chevrier | Elger Esser | Andreas Müller-Pohle | Dinu Li | Irina Tchmyreva | Joan Fontcuberta. The first prize of the Curator Ship Photography Contest is a workshop with Paul Kranzler, in May 2013, in Madrid, Spain.
Paul Kranzler
Paul Kranzler was born in 1979 in Linz, Austria. He is a freelance photographer whose work has published in magazines such as Dazed & Confused, Hotshoe, Camera Austria, Neon, Vogue and Brand Eins Magazin. He is also widely acknowledged for his personal work, especially the projects Land of Milk and Honey (2005), and Brut (2011), which have been shown in festivals and exhibitions worldwide.
European Photography Magazine
European Photography is an international art magazine for contemporary photography and new media. It was founded in 1980 and is published biannually by Andreas Müller-Pohle. Its number 92 will appear in late December 2012. The second prize of the Curator Ship Photography Contest is a two years subscription to this fantastic magazine, including shipment anywhere on this planet.
Camera Austria Magazine
Established 1980 by Christine Frisinghelli, Seiichi Furuya, and Manfred Willmann the bilingual (German/English) published magazine continues to occupy a special, internationally respected role in the scope of discourse on photography as a contemporary art practice. The third prize of the Curator Ship Photography Contest is a two years subscription to Camera Austria, including shipment anywhere on this planet.
PhotoIreland Festival
PhotoIreland is an Irish organisation dedicated to promote critical thinking around Photography, and a deeper engagement with the Visual Arts, to enhance a wider visual literacy. The organisation celebrates a festival every year in July, highlighting through a proposed theme, the works of national and international artists. The event involves a wide range of artists, galleries and cultural institutions in a celebration of Photography, with many participative events for all types of audiences. The fourth prize of the Curator Ship Photography Contest is a free entry to the Festivals Portfolio Review submissions, to be in a chance to get your work reviewed in Dublin in June 2013.

The Jury
The head of the judging panel is formed by Moritz Neumüller and Andreas Müller-Pohle and consists of the students for the European Master of Fine Art Photography and the Photobook students: Paola Acata Diaz, Nejat Cifci Ibrahim, Aleksandra Gajda, Han Shuo, Muhammad Hassan Ibrahim Hegab, Marina Iarevskaia, Dalia Kavaliauskaite, David Rojas Castillo, Katariina Salmi, Alicia Keme, Felix Fernandez, Juan Herrero Rodriguez, and Mercedes Rodrigo.
